On the other hand, your quick note to the Naturenet prompted me to read your blog for the first time, where I found many questions (fewer answers!) of interest!
I have no substantive speculation about why the fires are starting in riparian corridors--except possibly that we recreationists like them (including those of us who smoke--and maybe clean fish while smoking--and also shoot, creating sparks). I suppose agriculture is another reasonable assumption.
